Maldives Tourism Soars as July Arrivals Jump, Led by Spain
July brought a clear improvement to Maldives tourism after softer activity during the preceding months. Total arrivals rose from 123.55 thousand in June to 183.12 thousand in July 2026, representing a 48.2% monthly increase. Yet July remained slightly weaker than the 186.74 thousand arrivals recorded in July 2025.This distinction is important. The month-on-month recovery shows that visitor flows accelerated strongly as the year progressed, but the annual comparison shows that the Maldives had not fully regained last July’s volume. The broader Maldives tourist arrivals 2026 picture therefore combines strong seasonal recovery with continuing year-on-year pressure.
