On Friday, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport issued an advisory to international passengers informing them of the latest Ministry of Health guidelines stating that 2% of all international passengers arriving at the airport must undergo random post-arrival Covid-19 testing at the airport. This new set of rules comes after an unexpected increase in Covid-19 cases in Japan, the United States, China, Brazil, South Korea and other countries.

On Wednesday, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) issued an advisory for both domestic and international passengers who are expected to travel from the airport in the coming weeks, advising them to arrive at the airport early. According to the advisory, international travellers should arrive at the airport at least 3.5 hours before their scheduled departure times, and domestic travellers should arrive at least 2.5 hours before. The advisory comes as a large influx of travellers is anticipated at the airport in the upcoming weeks due to the festive season. “Due to the onset of the festive season, Mumbai Airport is expecting a surge in passenger volume. We request all our passengers to allocate additional time for travel-related formalities and mandatory security protocols,” said Mumbai Airport in a Tweet.
